Shaftesbury Glen Golf Links

Architect - Clyde Johnston
|
A truly unique concept, blending a world-class golf course with a superb fishing venue along the Waccamaw River. Shaftesbury Glen is now open and taking tee times. Architect Clyde Johnston brings the same traditional look to his 18-hole championship course - elevated greens, picture-perfect traps, wide-flowing fairways, demanding doglegs, tantalizing par 3's and long par 5's. From stone-gated entrance to Olde English clubhouse, all evokes the spirit of Shaftesbury, England - the project's namesake...just ten minutes from the heart of Restaurant Row, via the new Conway Bypass
Shaftesbury Glen has the same traditional look of the famed Winged Foot using the same design principles that A.W. Tillinghast did at the legendary course. Also built in the tradition of the typical British Isles courses with natural forest and the Waccamaw River. The course is receptive to both high and low handicappers. The greens are A-1 Bent and have grown in magnificently, and are lightning fast. The clubhouse is modeled after an old English manor house with pub and interior to match. Our fully stocked golf shop is equipped with the finest brand name apparel and accessories. Current vendors include Ping, Cutter & Buck, Nike, Ashworth, Gear, Haley, Antigua, EP Pro and Tail. We can service your need for fine quality golf merchandise. We carry Footjoy, Adidas and Nike golf shoes. Chldren's clothing lines include Camp David and Wee Golf. |
